Why it is harder, and what helps
Two faces means twice as much for the model to keep straight, so the photos matter more. Use two separate, front-facing, evenly lit photos rather than one photo of you both; the model does better with a clean look at each face. Similar lighting in both photos helps the pair look like they were drawn together.
