Nine portraits of one pet
Pet Portrait is the pack that makes people go quiet for a second. It takes a photo of a cat or dog and renders it in nine art styles — a Dutch oil painting with a ruff collar, a Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print, a pop-art screenprint, a watercolour, a renaissance fresco — and the pet is unmistakably itself in every one.
As a gift
This is our most-gifted pack by a distance. People order it for a friend who has just adopted, for a parent whose dog has grown old, and, often, in memory of a pet that has died. For those we suggest the 7×8 cm size, which is large enough to frame. If you are ordering as a gift, print it; a digital file is nice but a sheet in an envelope is a gift.
The source photo
A sharp, well-lit, front-on photo matters more here than for any other pack because the styles are painterly and the model leans on the details it can see. Daylight, eye level, both eyes open. If your best photo of the pet is a bit blurry it will still work; the style hides a lot. The photo guide has a section on pets.
